I'm taking a short timeout from train riding to call attention to my mother's input on Halloween costumes.
On her blog, she's got photos of my costumes from 1969 and 1970.
In the second photo, my sister was dressed as Wilma Flintstone. No one knew that's what she was, and she got upset.
I'm not suggesting that Roberta dress as Wilma Flintstone, but the bag costume would be easy to imitate and inexpensive.

I like that: "Marie was pretending to be an angel." I bet she was!
A few years back, I visited a northern Italian village, once a powerplant company town, now given over to EU computer security.
The lone pizzeria was decorated with photos from a topless competition, clearly a big event. To stay on-target, judges had brown-bagged the head of each contestant.
Only the winner was permitted to unveil.
Creepy, creepy, creepy.
And probably an image you didn't need overlaid onto 1970 Halloween. Sorry. Ax.
Dehumanizing? Well, yeah, but at least no one was gonna pretend otherwise...
Whole new twist on "bag lady" too ...
Couldn't resist. Ax.
