Marie vs. the Shredder

I opened a dusty shoebox today and discovered that I own HUNDREDS of Marie Javins trading cards.

Here are my trading cards.

Here is my shredder.

Do I have what it takes to do what must be done?

...which would be, of course, to send one out to each person who comments on this post? (lol)

It's 50 each or none at all!

Would they make good bookmarks? I could use a few.

Or maybe you can slap a "Read Stalking the Wild Dik-Dik" sticker on each and reuse them.

Bring 'em on! ERH and I can mysteriously mail them out with squashed pennies... Ax.

You should just burn your storage unit. Change your life Fight Club style.

I never saw Fight Club, because I was annoyed at the book that the ending/hook was so obvious from halfway through the book. I shouldn't say that. The writer will probably hate Dik-Dik now. "I knew that boyfriend from the beginning was going to be at the end in Sudan, so I'm not going to see the movie."

I just threw everything into a storage unit in 2000 and didn't open it until now. It's like a Marie-time capsule. Yesterday I also opened a box with old vouchers. Those are getting shredded since there is no reprint fee benefit to proving I did three pages of Spider-Man XYZ.

All right, my shredder and I have negotiated a compromise.

I will keep as many trading cards as can fit in the box that has my Dik-Dik postcards and remainder of Ave B cards. The rest go in the shredder with the 1994-2000 tax returns.

What, you may ask, is an Avenue B card? I guess I'll just have to show you...

Whew! Remember, I asked for one of those and you said your mother had the last one.

Why can't you just recycle them (the ones you don't want)? I mean, the financial stuff I get, but do these contain info you wouldn't want to get in the wrong hands?

Well, I wouldn't want hundreds of little Maries in the wrong hands! I can only imagine what college art project they might end up as.
