Whales schmales. The real reason I went to La Paz was to buy pottery from Olivia, a potter whose work I admired and purchased from a coffee shop in San Jose del Cabo last year.

I tried making this kind of pottery myself but I couldn't--she glazes it at low temperatures (less durable but lovely). I don't have control over the kiln at the studio.

We saw many whale sharks today. The guide had a GoPro so maybe the underwater shots will be good, but I don’t think they’ll be better than from the boat.

I’m in Baja Sur, in San Jose del Cabo at the moment, catching an early bus to La Paz tomorrow.

When my friend Jeff Tartakov went to the Daniel Johnston exhibit at the Contemporary, he sent me a jpeg of a note on display. The note was from Daniel to me, indicating he wanted me to get him into a comic book.

I talked about an idea I had with several people. I'd tried to do it a few years ago and couldn't get any bites, but a couple of people at work were really into the idea of a retailer variant.

I met Daniel in February, 1986. I thought that story ended on 9/11/19, but today we see the continued story.

Gotta Store My Books

Now that we have a hybrid working world, I need to up my home office game.

Bought some cheap shelving, and today I’m working on bracing to hold heavy hardcovers.
