iBook Disaster

I just broke a hinge on my five-year-old iBook.

I am in Cairo.

This isn't good, is it?

I'm going to see "Appleline" in the morning. They have "many old computers for parts."

Fingers crossed. Very dizzy from reading at an angle. A new and interesting experience.

I've had little trouble fixing Macs – especially older models – overseas. Often technicians have a more can-do attitude outside the disposable-tech belt...

If you don't hear from me for a while, it either means I had to leave the laptop there, or that I convinced them to sell me the part, a Torx-8, and a spudger, and the little iBook is in pieces all over my floor...
