The Accidental Home

I have a flat.

It was kind of an accident, and involved a near-total loss of control on my part. I am not sure if I am happy about this or not, though I realize it is best to unpack and have a base.

Here are some photos. Story to come.

Congrats!

That looks the same as my washing machine.

The kitchen looks very nice and clean. Hope the view's okay!

Matt, that also looks identical the washing machine I had in Barcelona. Do you think the washing machines across Europe are all the same, perhaps?

Elayne, the kitchen is small but new. I did not know that a clean kitchen was so important to me before Cairo. In the jungle in Uganda, we had a very old kitchen, but it was really clean. So I can work with small or old, but I guess I am disgusted by grime and grease. Who knew? Anyway, the view is only of the Chinese embassy, not the Nile, but I can swipe wi-fi off the cafe downstairs so being on a lower floor is not all bad.

Is that the kind of washer that also dries your clothes?

congrats on the new digs, Marie. Not surprised to see you 'on the lam' as usual. ;)

another friend of mine just came back from Egypt and I was feeling envious until he told me that his wife contracted some intestinal virus that she may have for the rest of here life. Yeesh!

Take care

No Mom, it doesn't dry. I am not sure how I'm supposed to dry as there is no rack. The man who owns this place sneered and said he's never used a washer. (He is proud and rich. I was soooo impressed.)

Kieron! I probably already have that virus. Maybe that's why I'm so lazy and don't want to get out of bed (the wi-fi from the cafe downstairs reaches here). I am in Egypt making comic books. Wanna draw a pinup?
