Proof Positive

They're here!

And they look great. To a skeptic like myself, this is a pleasant surprise.

And below, the physical manifestation of all this work I've been doing.

"Hello. My name is Marie, and I am a workaholic."

Maybe I can sell it all on eBay and buy health insurance.

Congrats! Now for the next thrill - seeing it in a bookstore. (Or better still, someone reading it on the subway)

Yay! Your book is now an actual book! And Amazon claims it'll be on sale in two weeks.

What's the best way to buy one (or more)? Would the Amazon link on your blog send you the most $$ or is there another way you prefer?

Sara,
The best way to buy one is that Amazon link on my page. yep, that one. THANK YOU! (Some of it... er, between the blog and MariesWorldTour.com damn near all of it--might sound kind of familiar.)

Peter,

I thought my next thrill was being asked what my next project was. Can I answer I already did it by making superhero comics in Kuwait?

Awesome! Congratulations, Marie! I have one question: Does that photo show the entire print-run, or are there moore copies available? Oh, wait, you answered that already... ;)

Marie Javins said...

No way, this is only half the print run.

Gaaahhh... (expression of stunned disbelief)

Warren Ellis recommended my book and it jumped from 827,000 on Amazon to:

Amazon.com Sales Rank: #28,598 in Books

No kidding. It's #19 in "Travel: Africa." That's six slots above Theroux's "Dark Star Safari." Which might not sound that cool because Theroux's book came out in 2002, but guess what? Dik-Dik isn't out yet.
